CHOCaholic Newsletter - March 2010

Happy Mother’s Day to us all! I love Mother’s Day and what better way to spend the day than by making and enjoying lovely raw chocolate treats. This month we have 3 CHOCtastically delicious recipes especially for mums, CHOC and Cashew Nut Butter Cups to start, CHOC Slices for afternoon tea and CHOC Chili Truffles with a CHOCtail or two to end the day with.

We have also been trying out the amazing natural sweetener Sweet Freedom in our recipes instead of agave syrup. It’s an absolutely divine low GL sweetener that is made in the UK and perfectly sweetens our Simple CHOC recipes without leaving any aftertaste. Sweet Freedom is vegan, free from gluten, additives and chemicals AND best of all there are only 14 calories per teaspoon! We are completely converted and will soon be adding Sweet Freedom in our CHOC Chick Kits.

March of course is gearing up to be super chocolate month, with Mother’s Day and Easter coming up soon and we are taking full advantage by taking part in not one but two Chocolate Festivals this month! Come see us at the Brighton Chocolate Festival, 20-21st March 2010, New Road, Brighton and at the Southbank Chocolate Festival in London from 26-28th March 2010, at Southbank Centre Square in London.

And finally...we are super proud of our partnerships and promotions this month. CHOC Chick is supporting the NSPCC charity The Baby Peter Tribute Fund and will be donating 5% of our Mother’s Day and Easter Sales to this important cause. We have also teamed up with the amazing Save our Friends for a CHOCtastic Easter promotion, buy a loveable toy of an endangered species, add a CHOC Chick Taster Kit and help save endangered species and our planet.

Make this month completely Guilt Free! Enjoying delicious raw chocolates means you can also do a little bit to help our children, our friends and our planet.

March 8th was International Women’s Day and CHOC Chick attended the brilliantly organised Women Unlimited Conference: Stepping into Success. It was an incredibly inspirational day with amazing speakers including Liz Warom Founder and CEO of Temple Spa, Emma Wimhurst Author of Boom!, Rebecca Harding Founder and MD of Delta Economicsand the incredible awe inspiring Camila Batmanghelidgjh, founder of Kids Company. Not only was it fantastic to meet and mingle with so many wonderful and successful women, but we were also highlighted as “The next company to watch in 2010” so watch out world, her come the CHOC Chicks!

We are all about partnerships and collaborations this month and have teamed up with some fantastic women entrepreneurs (or Mumpreneurs). We’ve received incredible support from Deborah and Tina, the founders of Sweet Freedom and are delighted to soon be working closely with them to incorporate Sweet Freedom into our CHOC Chick Kits. Save our Friends is another fantastic company run by an amazing woman, Sarah Eccleston. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with her on their Mother’s Day and Easter promotion and we love being involved with a company that is so passionate about conservation and saving endangered species. The fabulous Rachel Lovejoy is behind our partnership with the Baby P Fund and we are incredibly proud to be able to support this NSPCC charity. CHOCTastic Recipe of the Month

This month we also want to celebrate all the CHOCtastically fabulous mothers out there with 3 CHOCalicious recipes to enjoy throughout the day.

To start with, we have CHOC and Cashew Nut Butter raw chocolates that are super fun and easy for children to make and enjoy with their mums.

We also have a glorious CHOC Slice brownie recipe for afternoon tea, which is an adaptation of our CHOCalicious CHOC Cake recipe, using the delicious and super healthy Sweet Freedom  which we’ve been trying out as a replacement to Agave Syrup.
